Strokestown Park House is an 18th Century mansion which has been faithfully restored.
It is unique in that it retains its original furnishings and professionally
guided tours allow visitors to browse freely through the stately surroundings.
The Famine museum uses a combination of original documents and images
from the Strokestown Park collection to explain the circumstances of the
Great Irish Famine in the 1840’s. This collection boasts an extensive
range of papers including actual letters written by the tenants on the
Strokestown Estate at the time of the Famine. The beautifully restored
six acre Georgian Walled Garden Complex gives a unique insight into horticulture
practices and garden architecture from the 1730’s to the present day.

Elphin – Windmill

Elphin Windmill

An early 18th century fully restored windmill. Built
in the early 1700’s to grind oats and wheat into a meal, for the local
population. The mill worked for about a hundred years and was then abandoned.
In 1992, the derelict tower was acquired by the Elphin community and restored.

Situated amongst the mountains and forests of west Fermanagh, Florence Court is a fascinating example
of mid 18th century Irish Palladian architecture. The present house, the
former home of the Earls of Enniskillen, was started by John Cole and
completed around 1775. It was named after Florence, his wife.

One of Europe’s finest showcases allowing visitors
to explore a fascinating underworld os rivers, waterfalls, winding passages
and lofty chambers. Stalactites glisten above stream ways and chambers
while fragile mineral veils and cascades of creamy calcite coat walls
and spread as shimmering terraces across rock strewn floors.

Centre, or leisurely walk around the town.

    North Leitrim Glens offer a wonderful choice of over thirty walks.
  • Horse riding and golf are available locally.
  • The canal and lakes are ideal for canoeing and other water sports, not to
    mention international standard fishing at our doorstep.
