Headed out yesterday to Sliabh An Iarainn to do one of the walking trails included in the Walking Festival in Drumshanbo, Co. Leitrim . Patrick was part of the group who put up all the way markers some years ago and as we were walking he recalled falling into a bog hole up to his shoulders!!!! luckily he was with others who pulled him out.
It was a beautiful day and I am embarrassed to say I have never been on this walk before. The scenery was beautiful, but what made it for me was the sound of running water for a good part of the walk, I love that sound. Bencroy was looking stunning in the background, big Glacier rocks dotted here and there, and the shale quarry with all the lovely colours. Anyone planning on going to the Sliabh an Iarainn walking festival is in for a real treat.
