I have always been a great lover of trees from when I was small, I was lucky enough where I grew up in Trim to have great trees on the farm and around our house. I spent a lot of time sitting up on the highest branch viewing the world looking down. Eventually we built a tree house and our house was known as the house with the tree house because you could see it from the road. Although I don’t climb trees very much anymore I still have a great affinity with them and I was very taken with this one that we saw out walking a few weeks ago. The sheer size of it, both its height and its circumference were breathing taking. It had such a textured bark and to think how long it has stood the test of time is awe inspiring.
